Educational initiatives
When demands on time are higher than ever before, we recognise that training and education can be a challenge. That's why we have developed a series of FREE educational initiatives to help facilitate both independent and group learning.
Independent learning for nurses and pharmacists
Eczpert was developed originally for nurses as an online, interactive module programme to support those who care for people with eczema. A similar programme, tailored to the needs of pharmacists, has subsequently been developed. Eczpert offers:
- Flexible learning – 12 concise tutorials covering the holistic management of eczema
- 12 hours of accredited CPD (from the RCN and CPP respectively)
- Further reading, practical hints and tips, reflective practice and interesting, useful downloads
Download the nurse or pharmacist leaflet or visit www.Eczpert.co.uk to find out more.
Training with Eczema+
Eczema+ is a free training initiative designed for healthcare professionals with a special interest in Dermatology to use when training colleagues who are caring for patients with eczema.
Eczema+ consists of four modules. Based on a holistic approach to care, these modules are split between information on the disease and its treatment, and education on how to give patients with eczema appropriate emotional support.
- Module 1: What is eczema?
- Module 2: The role of emollient therapy
- Module 3: Talking to your patients about eczema
- Module 4: The emotional impact of eczema
Each module is designed to support a 2 hour training session and consists of:
- A core PowerPoint slide presentation – to introduce the topic
- Group exercises or case studies – to aid interactive learning
- Handouts and counselling cards – as reminders and to help when talking to patients
- Certificates of learning to provide to participants
